Oscar winner charged after fatal crash
Roger Avary, the Oscar-winning co-writer of 'Pulp Fiction', has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence after a fatal cable car crash nW of Los Angeles.
Reuters reports that the dash occurred in the metropolis of Ojai, 80 miles (130 km) northwest of Los Angeles, at virtually 1am on Sunday.
Thirty-four-year-old Andreas Zedini, a rider in Avary's elevator car, died of his injuries at a local hospital, Captain Monica McGrath of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said.
Avary's 40-year-old married woman, Gretchen, was taken to infirmary with serious injuries.
Skipper McGrath said Avary was released from poky later on posting $50,000 bail.
